Fight Night Champion is a boxing video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. Released in March 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it is the fifth-and final-instalment in the Fight Night series. The game marked a major tonal shift for EA Sports titles, introducing a darker, more cinematic presentation that highlighted the brutality and emotional depth of boxing. This earned it a Mature rating from the ESRB-the first EA Sports game to receive such a classification.
The game was officially revealed on July 20, 2010, during an EA Sports studio showcase. In May 2018, it was added to the list of backwards-compatible titles for Xbox One.
Champion Mode: A Boxing Story Like Never Before
A major highlight of Fight Night Champion is Champion Mode-a Hollywood-style story mode that follows Andre Bishop, a gifted boxer whose rise is halted by corruption, betrayal, and prison. Online World Championship & Gyms
Players begin online with limited stats and improve through competition. Winning the Online World Championship requires frequent defenses-twice daily-to retain the title. You can also create or join gyms (teams of up to 36 players), sparring or challenging rival gyms for supremacy.
Plot Summary: Champion Mode
Andre Bishop is a rising boxing star who ends up imprisoned after being framed by a crooked promoter and corrupt cops. While incarcerated, he maintains his training and eventually returns to the ring-this time in the heavyweight division. Along the way, he reunites with his old trainer Gus Carisi, partners with former rival Megan McQueen, and challenges the indomitable champion Isaac Frost in a high-stakes showdown. Bishop's journey is a mix of redemption, family conflict, and resistance against systemic corruption.
